Golden Wedding Cake

Golden Wedding Cake on Cake Central

Vanilla madeira with vanilla buttercream and jam filling, covered with fondant icing. Roses, leaves, letters and numbers made with fondant strengthned with Tylo powder. A holiday-maker brought these icing photos with her and asked me to make a cake incorporating them. I only had 2 days to do it in and I have just finished it this morning. A day ahead of schedule! This is my first attempt at full sized roses.

This is so beautiful!! Did you cut out the letters? Is everything edible? I love the colors you used and the repeating pictures. Very pretty! And your roses look so life-like... some look to be just blooming.

Thanks so much for all your appreciate comments about my cakes, my head is getting bigger! Honestly though I feel much better about my efforts now. The letter and numbers are cut out with patchwork cutters and painted gold, obviously I piped the other bit and coloured it gold. Everything is edible on this cake except the candles and ribbon!
