Princess Cake

Kind of a Barbie doll cake...only without the doll! The cake is vanilla sponge and is made from a 2.2 litre bowl cake and a 1.5 litre bowl cake. The "doll" is made from sugarpaste and the only part which isn't edible is the tiara which is made from Gold wire. This cake is for an 18 year old girly girl.

Oh Aine that is brilliant! My daughter is 3 this weekend and that is a great inspiration for her cinderella cake! Can I ask how you got the 2 colour skirt done?

I covered the cakes first with white sugarpaste to keep the shape. The skirt is applied in panels. First a white panel at the front and then 4 panels of pink which were crimped at the join. I'll post the back view too.

I would love to watch you do your work and learn from you! Want any visiters??? :) This is beautiful.

OH My!! Look at all of the exquisite details--the jewelry (the ring, the bracelet, the three layer necklace!), the locks of curly hair, the cornelli lace on the dress, the makeup on the face (and body). All I can say is WOW.
