This is my first cookie bouquet for my girlfriend's birthday....i'm pretty happy with the way it turned out....but i really need some help...

could someone share with me the best width of stick to use and how far to it should be in the cookie. I basically need cookie bouquet 101. I had about 5 cookies fall off the stick....

As soon as the cookie comes out of the oven, I put "glue" (a little of powdered sugar and water to the consistency of royal icing ) on the tip of the stick before I slide it in the cookie. This tip has worked excellent for me.

Great job on your first bouquet. I like the cookie with the face. To cute. I use bamboo skewers I found at the dollar store. You might have the occassional cookie fall off the stick still. I stick mine in a little over half way. I am still learning the how to's also. The trouble I have is coming up with a design for the cookie. I am not very creative in that department. :D

Super cute, and way to go on your first bouquet! I love the flowers. I normally stick mine in about half way or more. For bigger cookies, I try to get them as far in as I can. I just put some together last night and one of mine fell off, the stick wasn't centered in the dough, another tip. Good luck on your next one!

you did a great job. the cookies are very cute. do you put the stick in before or after you bake them? i think i'll try to make some soon.

well, i put the stick in before i baked them...i treated the sticks like skewers before i grill...I soaked them...sounds like a lot of people put the stick in after they come out...one gal even suggested putting a little frosting glue on it before it went in the cookie (which i thought was very clever)...so i'm not completely convinced of the best way to do it...these things i learned 1/4 - 1/2 inch dowels if you use the wood, be sure they are half way up. A lot of people use regular sucker sticks...
