Baby Shower Carriage
I found this design in a Wilton book but it was designed with Rolled Fondant. I was told that there was to be NO fondant on the cake so needless to say, I iced and decorated the cake with Buttercream Icing. The carriage is made from Gum Paste decorated with royal icing. I made two carriages. It's a good thing because I broke one. They are very delicate! The whole cake was challenging but very fun!
It's terriffic, great work
oh so cute! how did you do the impressions? And the circles aren't fondant? what r they?
No fondant whatsoever. I use my Pampered Chef scraper (which is plastic) to press the lines in the icing once it has crusted a few minutes. The dots were made with a large writing tip (it was a #9 or #12). I just put the tip close to the cake and squeezed the bag and let the icing flow out to make a big circle. Then after it lightly crusted, I lightly pressed each one with a Viva paper towel. Miraculously they came out round. (Actually it was my husband's idea to use the round tip).
You did an excellent job!
Wow !!! Amazing.. I love it! :)
