Book Cake Made For A Co-Worker's Wife

Book Cake Made For A Co-Worker's Wife on Cake Central

This was a tough one. My co-worker's wife got her first job as a librarian and he asked me to make a book cake for her, but did not want fondant (can't say I blame him). So I made the cover out of chocolate graham cracker sandwiched with chocolate syrup buttercream that were covered with ganache. Not the sleekist design, but they loved it. Cake is dark chocolate torted with ganache. The inscription is something he came up with (they call each other "snapper").

Thanks. I got idea from cookies my mom made when I was little. She was a baker and when she had extra frosting, she would make graham cracker sandwich cookies. You had to wait a day for the crackers to soften, but they were worth the wait.
