This was for a wedding shower tea party that was Mary Engelbreit themed. It is a lemon and strawberry cake with a buttercream frosting and fondant decorations. This is only the third cake I have made and it is the first one I have ever really decorated and used tiers.
I did use the "How to built a whimsical cake." instructions on CC. They were great instructions! I never had difficulty until I was trying to cut the angle through the bottom layer and that was only because my knife was not big enough for the 12" layer.
to make to scallope I used my computer to generate a scalloped circle, printed it, then cut it out, and then used it as my pattern on the fondant. It was really easy having a pattern.
