Unicorn And Fairy Birthday Cake

I modeled the unicorn and fairy and the cake is scratch chocolate with chocolate SMBC filling and SMBC icing...bow is gumpaste and figures are fondant/gumtex..flowers are fondant..for a 6 year old's birthday..they saw my first cake in a pic and wanted the "same but different"..hope I achieved that..they were very happy when I dropped it..thanks to Aine2, Liis, Shirley and Katharry for their help in originally showing me how to do stuff...

This is a fabulous close up Jane. Excellent work. Just love the expressions on these characters. Well done you!

I did the wings out of florists wire and 1/4 c water and a package of gelatin (unflavoured..there is about a tbsp in the pkt)..mix..heat to melt and then let cool a bit and dip the wire frames...a little like blowing soap bubbles..

Such a perfectly sweet cake. Oh how I would have loved this when I was a kid (are you kidding, I'd love it now too!)

I am totally blown away by your pony!! My oldest daughter had a My Little Pony toy very similar! I just love him!!!

The thing I love about your cakes are your cake bottoms/plates. Do you make them yourself? They really set the cake off and writing on them looks so cute.

I love your cake! That unicorn is gorgeous! Do you happen to have instructions? It would be perfect for a girly cake I am making soon!
