This was a first birthday cake for a friend's daughter. I got the idea from a Wilton book and modified a little with the basketweave.

Adorable! That will serve a lot of guests!!! How did you make those cute butterflies??
Fondant. I set them in the large flower former for about 18 hours so that they would dry curved. It served about 60.

how was it using the fondant?
Like Play-Dough. I'm not wild about the taste, but it makes for great accents. I would use a thicker icing next time, beacuse the bugs were heavy and after a long car ride, they were "pulling" on the icing.
