Black Forest Gateau

Another cake to celebrate our graduation anniversary... did I ever mention my husband and I were classmates? Well, this year I had a huge bag of black cherries sitting on my fridge... considering my compulsive chocoholic disorder, what to do with lots of cherries and chocolate?...Black Forest Gateau!!!! Layers of dark chocolate cake, moistened with cherry juice syrup, and layers of whipped cream and diced fresh dark sweet cherries. Topped with chocolate curls... more cream... and more cherries! Do not waste your time counting the calories... it was perfect for Sunday!

That is the most yummy looking cake I've seen in a long time. Beautiful photo's, should be in a magazine.

Absolutely, Regina, Sandra Smiley wants some!  Betty can pick me up on her way, since she is East of me,  and we'll be right over!  I'm in Tennessee and Betty is in North Carolina.  We are southern girls :o)

Your cake is absolutely gorgeous and, oh my, does it sound good!  Happy anniversary to you both, classmates!

Okie-dokie! I already put a RESERVED sign on top of the cake... But be aware @BettyA and @SandraSmiley, you have to be here at 12:00 p.m., otherwise, my troop will take cake of any leftovers! Love to you both southern girls!

Wouldn't it be fun, with or without a fabulous cake at the end?!  We would get to meet each other, Betty, and a new friend at the end of the trip, Regina!

My dear sisters of the Confraternity of Southern Bakers and Cake Decorators @BettyA @SandraSmiley  and so far myself, sorry to bother you... Is with great regret that I announce that our beloved Black Forest Gateau now rest in peace in the belly of its creator (and her family.) As previously announced, the even took place today at 12:45 p.m. when the RESERVED sign was finally removed, and the mob could no longer be contained. My apologies to you all, sorry to ruin your plans (cats and everything) ... but guess what? In my way home, I stopped at the grocery store and grabbed another bag of cherries! Soooo... What are you waiting for?

This looks like a soap opera already! But yes, a "next time" will surely come! So far, the Confraternity has been settled! Long life Southern Cake Decorators!

This humble northern baker would gladly eat the crumbs after you ladies have your formal cake party :). It looks beyond delectable. I wish my computer was scratch-and-sniff, at least!!!
