Simple three tier cake with gold polkadots and blue rice paper flower. Bday girl was very specific about what she wanted (colors were dictated by the party decor), including NO FLOWERS but I included one on the side and it turns out they used it :). Sometimes clients think they know what they want until they see it a different way. Always follow your instincts, and sometimes it pays to do extra for a better looking cake (at least for your portfolio)! In this cake it was easy enough to add the flower on the side for them to use or not and I'm glad I did because I think the cake needed it for balance. Gold dots are punched from rice paper painted with edible gold luster dust.
