Eagle Scout Death March Cake

My 2nd nephew became an Eagle Scout & we decided to do something less formal since the ceremony was at a campsite. I was talking to my nephew & sister in law about what to do for his cake. I asked "what do you normally do in scouting? Anything memorable?" His Mom says "He always gets wet." She told the story of him leading the troop when hiking in snow & he wound up stepping into a stream covered by the snow. It was the beginning of the hike & they had to get him as dry as possible to prevent frostbite. They did what they could and he marched on without complaint. They called it the Death March & still talk about that and also the 2nd death march. I dreaded making the figure but pretty pleased with how he came out. I didn't have time to make isomalt splashes that would have made it better. I used the bark mold for the tree trunk which I loooved & the snow on the mountains is candy melts.
