My Grandsons Wedding Cake

The cake was made by a local bakery as a part of their wedding package. I made the sugar flowers and flew with them from California to Arizona without even one breaking. I expected the cake to be plain white buttercream but was surprised and loved the fact that they airbrushed bit in ombre' colors to match the wedding theme. My flowers worked really well with their colors. Flowers were Pink and Purple Ranunculus and buds, Succulents, and pink rosebuds with bent leaves.

Your flower work is simply understated amazing.  They look SO real!  I half expect a bee to fly over and land on one!  I love that the cake decorator matched their wedding colors and yes, those flowers are perfect accent.  I can't believe you were able to get them past TSA without a break, too.  And being squished in an airliner lol

Thank you very much for the kind comments on my flowers. I actually like making them more than doing the cake itself. On transporting the flowers in flight. I bought 2 heavy paper mache' hat boxes from the hobby store, lined the bottom with a nest of shredded paper, laid the flowers in and covered them with more shredded paper. I used 2 boxes total, placed the lids on and put them into a plastic bag. they went through airport security without a hitch, was a bit worried the floral wire would set off the alarm but it didn't.  Took them aboard the plane and they fit perfectly under my seat. Arrived safely from my 3 hour flight without breaking a single petal. I was very relieved and happy about that.
