Thanksgiving Turkey
My client asked me to make her a cake for her Thanksgiving dinner and told me to surprise her...so this is what I decided to do :) Red velvet cake with pumpkin cake "dressing". I used coconut flakes that I coloured green for seasoning in the dressing.
Looks awesome!
Okay, I've just got to know how. Is that fondant? What kind of pan did you use? How did you carve it? I'm just full of questions because I'm just amazed at what a Great Job! You guys on CC just totally amazing this humble home baker. I am in awe.
Awe, thank you :) I started off with 2 oval cakes stacked and just started carving. I had a third oval cake baked just in case...which I ended up using some of to add to front. For the drum sticks I used sugar cones and stuffed them with cake scraps. The wings I just folded out of fondant. I used a light brown fondant for the base colour to cover it then hand painted on layers of colour to get the effect.
Amazing work, but it must be very confusing to eat!
