"in Death, There Is Life." - Acts Of Green

Earth Day 2016! Since being a radio DJ, I've participated in Earth Hour and now Earth Day. I feel utterly privileged and honoured to have worked alongside the world's most talented and spectacular cake and sugar artists!

Here is my piece for the collaboration this year: "In Death, there is Life." Through our destructive ways, we still perish and the earth will inevitably, consume us all. This portrays the resilience and silent power of nature. The earth was given to us to protect, conserve and enjoy. Nature was here first!

My goal was to create something thought-provoking, beautiful, graceful and sad. This piece is handmade entirely and consists of sugar and modeling chocolate mediums. The internal frame is wire that was self molded to form ribs. I wanted this to be installation art - these fresh and porcelain human ribs suspended from metal wire with plants and flowers gently overtaking and adorning the structure. The femininity, life and beauty that is nature, and the death and demise that is humanity.

There are Billions of us and only ONE earth, please help us create change. http://nationalgeographic.org/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ActsofGreen2016 Twitter: https://twitter.com/UNsugarArt Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/unsugarart/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unsugarart/ Web: www.unsugarart.org Donations: https://www.gofundme.com/actsofgreen
