This cake was created for the birthday of my beautiful friend, Goreti. The tiki is made from RKT's covered in a 50/50 mixture of fondant and modeling chocolate. The rest of the cake is done with cake dummies. This was my first time making hibiscus and bamboo. All flowers are made from gum paste.
Amazing work!
Flowers look so perfect as if you have been doing them since long time.
Gorgeous!
Thank you so much, Achee and MsGF!
gorgeous, wonderful work!!
Thank you, Superstar! It is one of my favorites.
Beautiful work. Love the tiki and hibiscus!
Thank you so much, chcrca!
Amazing!!
Thanks, Michelle46!
Amazing is the word.
Thanks so much, Minileo!
That tiki looks so real and that hibiscus looks good enough to eat!
Thank you, sweet @aldonza ! Those were my first (and only, to date) hibiscus and their petals look so thick to me now. I want to try some more soon. The tiki was the one good enough to eat! He is Rice Krispie Treats covered in chocolate, then modeling chocolate. He smelled sooooo good!
This cake is incredible! Those hibiscus flowers look so gorgeous and real! Are they done with the Wilton mold? Girl if you had a youtube channel, I'd be the first to sign up!
Thank you so much, lukbeealady! No molds or cutters used, but I did use a silicone veiner. I am entirely too lazy to have a YouTube channel. I am retired and I just play with sugar for fun.
That is amazing! Do you mind sharing which silicone veiner you used? I'd love to try making a hibiscus cake one day. I love everything Polynesian!
I hear you about all the work relating to making videos for YouTube...but you are definitely a master at what you do!
The veiner I have is a cheap, Chinese knock off, but it does a good job. It didn't even have a name and on the site it did not specify which flower it was made to vein. Don't remember which site it was, but I have ordered from Banggood, Wish and a couple of others that I cannot remember right now.
I was going to post a picture, but low and behold, no picture button. Another problem with the site, I guess.
Oh, Mini In The Box is another of the really cheap Chinese companies.
Beautiful work!
Thank you, TripleDCakery, for all of your kind words!
