I wanted to practice ruffles, so...I did. Lesson: Make sure ruffles are flush with top edge of the cake being covered.

Tip: every 3rd or 4th ruffle strip, take a scalpel or the like and make 1-2mm long cuts (vertical) along the edge before ruffling with a ball tool. It makes it look more like fabric...like a Ralph Lauren skirt. Although, for a clean, elegant wedding, maybe not the route to go.:-)
