I used a 10" round. Then I just drew a pattern on a piece of 10" round parchment paper. I used the paper as a pattern to cut out the cake board, and the layers of cake. Then I put the cut pieces on the cut board, filled in between the layers, iced the whole thing, then fondant. I imagine if you don't use filling, you could stack the 10" rounds, then use the pattern to cut the shape,
