Cake and Cupcakes (and other yummy stuff) I did for my little boys 5th birthday. Was so happy with how the cake turned out. Googled lots of different pirate cakes and then make a variation of quite a few to come up with my own. Bottom tier was a strawberry and vanilla marbled cake with strawberry buttercream. Chest and top tier was chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache. I really wanted to have a little pirate model from modelling paste draped over the top if the chest but I just ran out of time ....together with the cake pops and other things I had planned. Oh well - I have another little boy so I might have to just do a 'Pirate Party' take two in a few years and get everything right this time. Cupcakes were vanilla cake iced with either strawberry, chocolate, vanilla or caramel buttercream with a fondant face. Even though I had so many more things I wanted to add to the table it still photographed ok.
