This cake was done for a friend who graduated from college in her thirties. She had a great sense of humor about it. The books are WASC cake covered in fondant. The notebook paper, mug, and mortar board were made from gumpaste. The tassel, pencil, and eraser are fondant. The cake board was covered with brown and white fondant using the wooden technique. It was my first time using that technique and I'm very happy with the results. Plus, it was lots of fun.
