Yule Feast Cake

I made this cake for our Medieval Society's Yule Feast. It is a two layer cake--the top layer was a Sugar-Free Yellow cake and the bottom layer was a Carrot cake with Cream Cheese icing (which I don't ever want to use again!). It tastes good but it sucks to decorate with it!

Each layer is a hexagon cake. The bottom layer, on every other side, has an edible image of the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess and the Baron and Baroness. In between each image, I used icing to put a DL which stands for Dragon's Laire, which is the name of our Barony.

The top layer is turned so the corners are in the middle of the sides of the bottom cake (did that make sense?) and, on each side, has an edible image of the coat of arms (which is called a device). The image of the King and Queen is centered below their devices, the image of the Prince and Princess is centered below THEIR devices, and the image of the Baron and Baroness is centered below THEIR devices. Then I made a copy of the Barony's device (double-sided) and put a toothpick in between the two so that I could stand it vertically in the center of the top layer.
