This was my first go at fondant and I fell in love with the stuff! I made this cake for my friend Jessica's birthday. She told me she liked polka dots and pink (and I like glitter so I added that part). The cake is French vanilla with strawberry preserve filling. BC icing with fondant on top. Decorations are fondant. I used a glittery pink ribbon around the bottom and added pink shimmer dust to the pink decorations then sprinkled some over the top. It was my first time using that too, and I noticed it gets a little heavy in places if you're not careful. Let me know if you have any pointers on that! Also was the first time I used the wire swirly thingys (sorry I don't know the technical term). I had trouble with the weight of the fondant balls moving them, but I threw it in the fridge and that helped. Crossing my fingers it makes it through the car ride to her house =)
