This monster truck doing a stunt was a definite first for me - it was for a little boy's birthday. His mom wanted a blue monster truck with purple flames and the rest was pretty much up to me. Originally, I was going to just do the truck standing on the cake, but then I thought it would be so much cooler if it were doing a stunt, so I had my husband build me a support to mount to my board, and the rest was up to me. The bottom cake was a 12-inch square, half white, half chocolate filled and frosted with vanilla buttercream, topped with chocolate buttercream to resemble mud. The monster truck body and tires made from cereal treats covered with fondant; hand-painted purple flames and other details.
