This cake was made for Christmas and is based on a popular Dutch Brand 'Blond Amsterdam', known for their handpainted ceramics. This is the design of one of their plates from the 'Delfs Blond' range. I wanted to make a Delfts Blauw themed cake for ages know and this seemed like the perfect occasion. It is a caramel cake filled with caramel sauce, based on the famous Dutch delicacy 'Stroopwafels' (Caramel waffles)
