I live in remote Alaska but I am from VA. It has been dark and dreary here so I wanted to make a flower to lift my spirits. I made this gum paste magnolia freehand. No cutters, veining mats, etc. There are almost no cake supplies available here and shipping costs a fortune. I have to get innovative! I used an exacto knife and a few modeling tools from the Ben Franklin to complete this project. Nothing is perfect in nature yet it is perfect in every way. I embraced the natural movement of my gumpaste to make this magnolia look as natural as possible.
