Made this for my cousin's baby shower, modeled after the "Woodland Critters" theme of the nursery. Bottom tier: Two 8" square french vanilla layers in buttercream icing Middle tier: One 6" round french vanilla layer in buttercream icing Top "log" tier: Two 4" round spice cake layers, done in peanut butter frosting. To make the "bark" I melted down a bag of peanut butter chips, spread it thinly on wax paper, broke up the "sheets" once they had cooled, and stuck the broken pieces onto the cake. Decorations: Hand-painted gum paste for the critters and waterfall, chocolate candy rocks.
