Pumpkin cake was carved to appear to be laying on it's side, then covered in orange fondant, then sponge painted with color to enhance the pumpkin look. The pilgrim's hat is a carved cake covered in fondant and on dowels that are a bit tilted but basically set up like any other 2 layer cake.
