Sweet Sixteen

Thanks to CharmingConfections for the inspiration for the design. This is a 12in+8in+4in cake frosted with buttercream, fondant for the accents. The silver was made by brushing silver pearl dust (mixed with clear vanilla) onto gray fondant. The stars are supported by floral wire. I stuck the ends of the floral wire into lollipop sticks so that the wire would not touch the cake--this also helps the wires stay up better! The zebra-striped stars are painted with black food coloring.
