I was asked to make a birthday cake for an old friend's boyfriend. She asked if I could make a 'Meerkat themed' cake as her boyfriend is a big fan of a particular character on a British TV advert. As I'm still new to cake decorating I jumped at the chance to be creative and get more practise. I still have a long way to go, but I was quite pleased with how this cake turned out. I am still having issues with the sugar paste cracking up though. Any tips on how to avoid this happeing in future?
