Santas Sleigh

Santas Sleigh on Cake Central

Thank you to all your wonderful comments. This is a quick note on how I made it. I made a template for sides of the sleigh as well as the front and back. I then cut out 2 sides in pastillage and allowed them to dry. I then cut the front panel and allowed it to dry over a piece of aluminum I folded. The back and bottom were tricky. I cut one long strip. I then piled a few tiny boxes together to make a "step" shape(this was to create the "seat" in the sleigh". I then laid the long stip over this at the one end and the long end formed the floor of the sleigh. When all of this was dry, boy putting it together was very difficult. The front panel dried slightly out to the rest so I filled all the gaps with royal Icing. I then piped all the detail work on and allowed it to dry completely. I then airbrushed it gold and added a few touches of glitter. I stuck some gems on for detail. Made all the pressies with fondant and filled the sleigh and placed the whole thing on top of a plain chocolate delice cake.
