My 3rd wedding cake! The design comes from the Confetti Cakes book by Elisa Strauss. It is decorated in fondant with royal icing piping and gumpaste leaves and a gumpaste bow. Usually I am afraid to pipe anything directly onto a cake, but I did better than I thought and I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. Originally the bride had a topper for the cake, but a few days before the wedding she emailed me to ask if I could make a bow. Apparently her fiance stepped on it and broke it stumbling around after his bachelor party.
