This is my first carved cake, was for a friends Birthday and shes loves sharks! I delivered it to her pool party (after they had been drinking in the hot AZ sun all day) They were having so much fun taking pictures with it. At one point they had poured bloody mary all over birthday girls face and made her stick her head inside the mouth for pictures... probably the most fun I had delivering a cake. She didnt cut it for a week and apparently drove it all over town to make sure everyone she knew saw "the best birthday present she ever got". Said it was still good when she finally ate it but I have my doubts ;) Haha. It was confetti cake (that was fun to make) with a bavarian cream filling and buttercream frosting. Covered in fondant with gumpaste teeth. Waves are made with poured sugar (the only part people were allowed to eat... I should have flavored it lol) Again I googled pictures and sat infront of my poor frosted lap top as I carved frosted and painted. And as all cakes go learned alot of what I'll be doing different next time!!
