This baby shower cake was for a coworker who is having twins - a boy and a girl. She wanted something non-traditionally "baby" and no pastels. I drew inspiration for the pattern and colors from the fabric in the playpen that was on her registry. The bottom tier is 12" and is French Vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. The top tier is 9" chocolate fudge cake with vanilla buttercream. The entire cake is iced in vanilla buttercream and the details and bow are made of 50/50 fondant and gumpaste.
