Birthday for my father-in-law who is originally from Greece. Its very hard to come up with ideas for his cakes. I make a cake called Vasellopita which is a Greek New Years Cake. Your supposed to hide a coin in the batter, and whomever gets it in their slice is supposed to have good luck for the rest of the year. I just slid a clean coin in after I torted the cake. I filled it with strawberry jam. Covered in BC with fondant cutouts. Top tier is covered in MMF. I wanted to do a lot more on the cake but I had less than 2 hours to complete it so i had to sacrifice a lot of the design. I posted original idea also.
