I made this for my MIL's Birthday in 2005, long before I ever knew what fondant was. White cake with vanilla BC and coconut for rice. California rolls used Mike & Ike's & Fruit Roll Up. Tamago was sliced pineapple, salmon was cantaloupe with piped BC (#1 tip). Nori is black bubble tape gum. Roe was large pearl tapioca with red food coloring and a mini lime candy slice, octopus and other fish are a variety of Swedish Fish and gummy candy. Soy sauce is chocolate fruit dip. Ginger is peach salt water taffy rolled very thin. Wasabi is lime tootsie roll. Chopsticks are Italian breadsticks.
