this was a slightly larger version of the cake i made for my son's birthday, brought to work for a coworker who was leaving. no one believed that the bottles were sugar. thanks to everyone on cc that posted instructions on how to make them and the ice. it took trial and error, but i finally got the hang of it. the top was a removable cardboard round, with the bottles attached. made cutting the cake easy, and the bottles didnt crack the cake. the only non edible item is the labels that i printed from the internet.
