Graduation cake for a drum player. BC with fondant accents. Had a heck of a time with humidity this week! The BC wouldn't crust and the fondant did not want to stay dry! The drum accents are dusted with silver lustre dust - kindof hard to see in the photo. I am a Critique Subgroup member.
I will say that when I first read about using an offset
spatula, years ago, for spreading cake batter and frosting, I didn't
even know what it was. I got one and it makes the job so much easier.
I am making a cake from scratch. The recipe says it will make a 9"x13" cake. I am using an 11"x15" pan. Would doubling the recipe be enough to get a nice layer? Thank you.
