This is the cake that started my fascination with cake making a year ago! Pirates themed birthday party. Yellow cake, carved to be somewhat in the shape of a treasure chest, then iced in chocolate icing. The accents were cut from yellow fruit roll-ups. The board it's sitting on was cut out from a Pirates of the Carribean playset the birthday boy had already been given, then I added candy necklaces, ring pops and gold mine bubble gum for the "booty".
