Confirmation Bible
This cake was baked in a book pan and iced with BC. I overlayed the top with fondant to give the appearance of curled up pages. The ribbon is fondant brushed with super pearl. The customer wanted the cake to look like and old Bible.

Critique Subgroup member: As for me this cake is wonderful and very well done & sweet touch on turned up corner. As for the cake community I wanted to introduce you to the blue roses theory & many people on CC state blue roses are just not done and should never be put on a cake. Now for me, I can't help wonder why, but since reading the issue on CC, I have never done blue roses and have looked at them differently since. So now you have the curse of the blue roses to think about also. :twisted: Sorry.
critique subgroup member: This turned out wonderful. I love the turned back corners and the gold along the pages. Your flowers are pretty and spaced nicely. I love the ribbon book mark. On the first page, the writing seems to get larger as it goes down the page, but that could be the angle. The script is well done. I really like this cake.

Critique Subgroup Member. You have made a great cake. The font is great for the old look. Your flower positioning is good. The only thing I notice is the seams in the black fondant/Bible cover, although I guess you can see a seam in the corner of a real book too, so that should be okay. Great job!
