Carrot cake with cream cheese filling. Covered in Marshmallow fondant. Decoration in fondant and royal icing. The egg is made with pastillage tinted blue/violet and painted with pearl dust. It's hollow.

Pastillage is similar to gum paste. It is made with confectioners sugar, gum tracaganth and water. Gum paste has glycerine and glucose added to it which makes is softer and easier to work with. It takes a little longer to get hard. I molded the egg, over a plastic egg shape covered in plastic wrap and then glued the halves together with royal icing.
