Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree on Cake Central

I saw a Christmas tree figurine in a souvenir shop and thought it would make a cute cake. This is made from 4", 6", 8", and 10" rounds carved to shape and covered with fondant. The ornaments are styrofoam balls covered with fondant. Thanks for looking.

It looks great! I saw a Food Network competition where someone did this same design and hers fell apart. Shows just how good your work really is! :D

OMG, What a cute idea... I think I will try, if you don't mind it. I also would like some directions on this, how did you assamble the layers?

Alana took the words right out of my mouth :P That is so adorable. I wish I had the nerve to try and carve like that!

OH MY GOD!!!! Meticulously done -- it looks like a beautiful Christmas ornament and not cake! What is your trick for covering round shapes so perfectly with fondant!

I love it!! 1 question...how did you attatch it to the "trunk" and is there a plate under the tree to make it stable?

You people are so creative. I have the same question as beckysue. Is the trunk a cake plate. What is supporting all of that cake?

Thanks so much everyone! The trunk is actually a can of pineapples wrapped with brown fondant. Not very stable at all so you may want to try something else. :D
