I made this cake for our local Seminole Corn Festival Cake Contest. Last year I won first prize with my corn cake and this year I made an A'corn cake - a play on words. I won first prize again. I made the acorns with the ball cake pan and trimmed away extra to make the acorn shape. The acorns are covered with buttercream frosting and leaves are made of gum paste.
