My Boss's Birthday Cake
He collects globes so this was the perfect cake for him. I used two half ball pans and cut one of them to be flat to make the bottom (so it wouldn't roll!). It's frosted with whipped frosting (yeah, not exactly smooth...) and then I used fondant for the continents and painted them.
It looks great. The icing reminds me of latitude lines :)

I think it looks just fine with the spatula marks. It gives a dimension to the water. Great idea!
