I use the cake mix extender for ALL of my cakes. In fact I made a chocolate cake this weekend and used the extender it works wonderfully. Unfortunately, I do not know how many cups of batter it give you, but I know that it works.

BTW.... cute avatar and welcome to CC.

It is a mixture of ingredients added to your box mix that makes the cake taste more like a scratch cake.

It is listed in the recipe section of this site.....

It is as follows:

1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla or the flavoring of your choice
1/3 tsp salt
8 oz sour cream, yogurt, or store bought icing.

Mix this with your box mix and bake as directed.

Your cakes will come out more moist and very good!!!

I bake at 350 and have no problems at all. It does take about 10 to 15 minutes longer, because the cake are thicker. But I start checking mine at the end of 20 to 25 minutes.

The extender mix that I use which is:

1 Cup Flour
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 tsp Baking Powder
2/3 water
1/2 cup Vegatable Oil such as Crisco

This extender I use in every Betty Crocker cake mix I use will give you approx 1- 1/12 cups EXTRA of batter!!
