Had a customer this afternoon ( a repeat customer and I hated doing this...)and ask me if she could order a cake for tomorrow. Now, if I wasn't in the middle of Superbowl madness, I may have said yes as I'm not in any position to turn anything down right now..
but, I said no...I couldn't take the order for her to have a cake tomorro...( order Friday afternoon for a Saturday cake)
Then she turns around and asks me, if she orders it now can she pick it up later 
What the HECK?
What part of .."I can't do it" didn't this person understand?

didn't you know that you're HER Baker? You exist bc SHE ordered from you and now you are always there for HER and Her alone. In your free time, you may, if SHE doesn't need you, make cake for others, but only bc it stops you from twiddling your fingers AND you can practice more to make HER cake even better the next time.

Like I'm not making like 20 things and then another 20 others..along with the 20 that I put off from last week and the 20 things I have to do to get a head start on next week..
and..oh yeah..getting orders for the Chocolate boxes already.. 
But then again...we are bakers!! hear us break those eggs!

Advent, I just did my month to month take on excel and If I don't do better next month I dont' know WHAT I'm going to do...I didnt even make a 1/4 of what was needed in January!
Or, if this slow January is a trend, I can plan some nice vacation time around this time next year
