Okay, do you just use lolli-pop sticks for the cookie boquets? I'm going to be making a boquet next friday for a co-worker and for the life of me couldn't think of what to use for them. Do you bake with them in there? (That's dumb..how else would you get the dough on the stick? LOL) Okay, do you have to use sugar cookies? Or can you use other recipes like chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin, etc???
I made these once and I used sugar cookies. I didn't bake them into the cookie but stuck them onto the back with royal icing. You can buy the sticks from Micheals and get all different lengths.
I don't know if this is the way other people make them but it worked for me. ![]()
You can either use lollipop sticks or wooden skewers. I've heard of both, but IMO, I like the look of lollipop sticks better. They just look cleaner and have better "eye appeal." As far as when you put the stick in, is up to you. I've read of people doing it BEFORE they bake, RIGHT after they come out of the oven, or even waiting untill they've cooled and "glued" them on w/ RI or chocolate. I think I've heard of people using cc cookies, but I'm not too sure on that one. HTH! Good luck!
You can also use wooden skewers. I've done that and decorated the skewer with pipe cleaners.
You can either bake with them on there -- couple different methods. I put down a small blob of dough, push the stick down into that and then lay the cookie on top and bake. I've heard of others baking the cookie and then pushing the stick in while the cookie is still warm.
I personally attach them later with candy melts.
I've only done sugar cookies, so I don't know about other types of cookies. Do a forum search on cookie bouquets and you'll find lots of info!
