Hello all,
Now that I am officially licensed, I am now able to advertise, etc. Well, I have a lady in my church that works (the hospitality/catering part) for the Hilton and she wants me to give her business cards so that I can perhaps be the person that does cakes for them. How do I go about presenting my work to them? Thanks for any help and suggestions. I am excited but nervous at the same time.

Well if she will have to make a decision with others..If she calls you, you can give her a taste test on your flavors.. Even if you only offer limited flavors (cake boxes). Show off your style too.. Make small maybe 6" round cakes and use every technique you know on each and everyone one of them. Portfolio, take a portfolio with you..
Good luck and congrats!

It will be good to put together your cake pictures, and then take those that can present your work/or what you can make.
When I was in Europe, I was making only European kind of cakes/ those with thin layers, and special filings cooked on steam/. With those pictures comes a description about everything what is inside every cake and filing.
I have a question for you: how long was a proces to get your licence in your state, and what did you need to get it?
In Europe I had my own busines, and now I am in USA, and I would realy like to start my own busines in USA-but I do not know where to start and how long will it take to get licence. Do you have any advice?

Ditto samples and book of your work. Once they decide to work with you they may want a book of their own to keep there. Take samples of other things you do too, favors, chocolates cookies etc.
