I am just starting to make cookies in my home and my friend has a candle business in town and she wants me to put my cookies in her store. Now, I thought of a business name for myself, but my DH says that I cannot just put any business name on my cookies. Would I get in trouble if I put a business name on my cookies, even though I made it up myself?

If you use a "made up name" on some cookies, you are probably not going to have any problems. however, you must be certain the name isn't being use by someone else. It is usually not very expensive to get an assumed business name.

The big problem would come if you are not 'legal'. If you are using a licenesed kitchen, no problem. But if you are not, you and your friend could have major problems.

Cookies for resale also need ingredient labels and pull dates
