Oh yes, a dream come true to all of us indeed!
Congratulations to you and your family!!
What a magnificent accomplishment you did. That cake is a wonderful show of skill and talent. How long did it take you?
Blessings to your daughter… I know she has waited for so long. God has lead her all the way:)
Thanks kakeladi, my daughter is as happy as can be!... Oh, the cake, that was such an adventure... Half of the cake was done in New Jersey and put into pieces in our luggage, the last half including the piping I finished in Missouri. The trip was done by plane, and the last portion of the road before reaching the Abbey is a dusty rocky road. Yes, the cake was resilient. I did not keep track of the many hours, but I'll guess some twenty something. Oh, the joyful face of the sisters was priceless! I'll probably do it again in two years, when the group of novices will pronounce their First Vows and their white veil will be replaced by a black one. I'll better start gathering strength and courage now...!
To be honest, this journey began last year in July when she left for the Abbey. For 14 months we did not see or communicate with her. Sounds cruel but is beautiful to experience how we all slowly detached from sorrow and human feelings and attached more to God. Certainly, God has been by our side from the beginning, and I keep praying for strength for the years to come. After watching the community grow so fast for so long, one can only conclude that only God can provide their infinite joy.
Beautiful! It looks like it added a special touch to a very special celebration. It takes a special person to commit themselves in total to the lord and his service. Thank you for sharing the occasion and your amazing cake!
