Can you use a dehydrator for meringue cookies or will it not get hot enough to bake the egg whites?

Sorry, I have never used a dehydrator, so wouldn't have a clue.

mine doesn't go over 200 degrees so that's not hot enough -- some recipes have you bake them then turn off the oven but leave them in to continue to dry out but the dehydrator doesn't get hot enough initially to do it right --
