this doesn't have a ton to do with the holidays or baking but it is certainly good will toward man!
it is out of delish dot com

"A restaurant staff was given a $3,000 tip from a generous customer on Nov. 22, according to a viral fb post

  • The customer ordered a single beer before leaving the large tip to the Nighttown waitstaff in Cleveland, Ohio.
  • Nighttown owner Brendan Ring said he was “humbly grateful” for the gesture following his decision to voluntarily close his restaurant due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This has year has certainly come with its challenges, especially for the hospitality industry. But one Ohio restaurant is feeling hopeful after a customer’s generous gift last week.

On Nov. 22, a diner paid a visit to Nighttown restaurant in Cleveland and ordered a single beer costing $7.02. Before heading out, he handed his credit card to the restaurant owner, Brendan Ring, and asked him to share the tip with his waitstaff.

“As he walked out I looked down at the tip and realized he left a whopping $3000 tip on a single beer purchase,” Ring wrote in facebook “I ran after him and he said ‘No mistake we will see you when you reopen!’”

Ring said he was touched by the kind act. “Unbelievable but symbolic of the kind of quality folks we have [known] at Nighttown all these years,” he said. “All my waitstaff and myself [are] humbly grateful for this incredibly kind and grand gesture.”

Uuugg.... took a tumble yesterday:(   My glasses cut my nose.   Also I think I sprained my wrist—it aches...but I had just had a brace put on & a shot in it so not sure if the shot or the fall is causing it to ache.  So Quiet Over Here...

Still not getting CC notifications....grrrrrrrr  Oh my Lynne, you are having a rough go of it. My son use to get constant ear infections. The ear/nose & throat specialist told me antibiotics don’t do anything. That the body will heal a ear infection. Just to take pain relievers. Easy to say with a small child.

Take it easy today Lynne. Nurse yourself. Praying...

I have a tube in that ear & any water that gets in causes infection.  But this time it started out as a fungus & I think the drops for that caused the infection to run  rampant.  It’s been a couple weeks & no change .

So sorry, Lynne.  You are having such a hard time, maybe staying at home is not a bad thing for you.  Be careful and safe, dear friend.

Oh Lynne !  Do you have the Hallmark Channel or any other movie channel because I think today's a great day to park yourself on a soft chair or couch and watch a movie and take it easy! Feel better! Sending a hug!

Wow Lynne didn’t know anyone who still had tubes in there ear past the age of 15. Usually there removed by then. You have to be extra careful with tubes. I can understand a possible of fungus. So guessing you can’t use ordinary ear drops.

I’m cozy under my heated blanket watching a hallmark movie from YouTube.

Holy Moly Lynne!! I hope you’re able to write off as a medical expense on your income tax!!

Use to be that 99.99% of medications and procedures were covered by our provincial health insurance. Over the last 20 + years, slowly things have been removed. If you’re not covered under a work plan, you pay the full shot. I have paid out of pocket for a few medications. But we claim on our income tax. At 65, government automatically covers most seniors medications. I couldn’t wait for 65 and my migraine meds being covered. Nope, migraine meds were removed. Apparently people over 65 don’t get migraines don’t you know!! Thank goodness I’m covered under my husband’s government retirees medical insurance!! I hope you got the meds and are feeling better..❤️

I LOVE tuna salad -- not nicoise or anything fancy -- it's a comfort food tuna salad I've been making since I was little -- but I'm on a keto like diet so...no boiled eggs or mayoyo, no bread of course

but I made that aquafaba mayo the other day -- I used fried garbanzo beans in place of the creamy eggs!  seven slices of bread & butter pickles only 60 calories -- I used to use the pickle juice in there too but still I had the flavor and crunch -- wow So Good!!!!!! nice and creamy! and No Eggs!!!

washed it down with some store bought butternut squash tortilla chips (no corn either) -- they're really good!

I'm a happy camper blush

K8memphis.....if you’re on “keto” type diet. Eggs are huge part of the diet, and mayo too!! Are you allergic to eggs??? I’ve been on keto now for a month, lost 10 lbs. I looooove my bread, and I found a great recipe. Tastes like bread, obviously not 100%, but close enough to satisfy.

You can make in a bread machine, I didn’t have much success. I just use my KA. Just made some this afternoon

first of all, congratulations on the weight loss!!!

funny you should mention this, june  -- I looked it up today in fact and I actually am not on a keto or paleo type diet -- I completely misspoke -- and I thought I might should mention this online and then I thought, naw, it's no big deal -- and then there you so kindly share a delicious looking sounding recipe --

it might have some kind of name or another but on my 'diet' there's no eggs -- according to my naturopath, eggs are the worst closely followed by dairy -- I eat a lot of plant foods, no wheat or gluten, a few grains, no sugar, no artificial sweeteners, no processed foods, no corn, no caffeine, only certain oils, no pork -- the diet has evolved over the years -- and I am SO Much better sticking to it --

but I gotta recipe for you too...brb

june, it looks like it smells So Good!!! but alas, no eggies pour moi --

this little recipe can get you a pumperkickel type bread in a jiffy -- in a cup in the microwave -- sliced like bread it is awesome! and it also takes an egg but when you don't have much time and you want a quick fix it's great --

junk food junkies can lose weight : skinny GF un-muffin (k8memphis.blogspot.com)

if the link doesn't work -- it's 'junk food junkies can lose weight blogspot" then scroll to the unskinny muffin --

thanks for the beautiful bread recipe -- can you have cheese?

Hey boss, all you have to eat is grass, millions of cows can't be wrong! If you think is tasteless, add a sprinkle of parsley :)

Goodness, what a diet, it will be easier to mention the few things you can actually eat!

reggie, how did you know!! for sure!   I actually do eat barley grass juice powder daily in a smoothie not to mention the cardboard and twigs-- hahahahahaha

along with hawaian spirulina, dulse aka seaweed, fresh cilantro, wild blueberries, the barley grass and a couple bananas -- it sounds funky it tastes great -- that's after I start my day with 16 oz of lemon water wait 20 mins then down 16 oz fresh celery juice wait 20 mins eat some oatmeal and the smoothie --

but I stay fat free till lunch -- our livers starts a self cleanse in the wee hours of the day and staying fat free all morning allows the liver to continue it's self clean  until lunch time blush

I take msm though and it tastes like I think carburetor cleaner would taste -- but it's great for fighting inflamation -- tastes like harsh alcohol -- msm is the less scary sounding name for methylsulphonylmethane -- athletes also take it -- does great things for the body --

Hey guys been babysitting for 4 days...son/d-in-lw finally moving into their new house today. I made a double barrel cake, but only the top 6” is cake. I froze and d hopefully that will be part of our Christmas Eve dinner dessert. I made a mini 5” cake, with a candle,  to take over tonight after we drop off our grandson.

Yes Kate I can have cheese. I try not to eat too much of it as there’s a lot of salt in cheese. Puffs me up. My keto seems to have stalled. And I’ve not cheated in any way. Oh well, keep plugging along.  Why are you on such a stringent regimen Kate??? Seems there’s not a lot for you to eat. I’m all for plant based foods. I haven’t eaten the recommended protein/meat on this keto. I’m not a giant meat eater.

I have another easy peasy bread recipe for you but it is based on cheese -- I just love it but it doesn't return the favor -- I'll post it later it's a focaccia bread

I've taken all the rheumatoid arthritis medications except for biologics -- the meds either didn't work or the side effects were greater than the benefits -- I've chosen not to take those biologics because the potential side effects are quite dire -- so I'm going for a more naturopathic approach -- eating really clean like this and taking supplements --

I've had dramatic great results in some areas and I feel better but at the same time there ain't no magic pills or potions either --

but I can still do 150 sit ups hahahaha

Ahhhh...that makes total sense. Good friend’s husband had rheumatoid arthritis. Took a crap load of drugs, no exercise and absolutely terrible diet. Lots of drug side effects, like you mentioned. His life was a misery. But he chose not to be the least bit proactive. His company provided amazing benefits. One was access for seniors to a heated swimming pool for arthritis exercises, or just swimming. Best activity for joints. Nope. He literally sat in his lazy boy chair 24/7 until he died. Sad, Sad, Sad.....

june, yeah the side effects will kill you -- sorry about your friend -- it's a hard decision to make with far reaching consequences to buck the medical establishment -- they are very di$appointed i'm not on a biologic -- and they're not bashful about it either -- if the drugs worked i'd still be eating regular and doing my thing -- but this works as good as the stuff they had me on without the miserable side effects -- you'd want to hope that following your doctor's advice would get you where you want to go -- but no, unfortunately it does not --

anyhow here's the recipe

melt all the ingredients above the egg (not the egg) in the microwave for one minute -- then add the egg and combine well -- divide it in two part and pat them out in a flat oval onto parchment -- combine the remaining ingredients and spread over the top -- bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes -- ridiculously delicious -- and easy --

ingredients in next post...
